For a true wild bird hunting experience try the “Creek Bottom”. This field is very challenging and is better suited for smaller groups who are more experienced hunters and dogs. The Creek Bottom has wide variety of pheasant habitat including; sorghum, switch grass, sunflowers, corn, wheat, millet, several swales and even a small apple orchard. “Old Orchard” can be quite a challenge to hunt. Over half of the 160 acres were abandoned apple orchards. What remains is a very large area of native grasses with some brush rows and scattered stumps. The remaining acreage is sorghum, corn, sunflowers and cut wheat. You’ll find hunting birds in this heavy cover tough. Great for larger groups. Your dogs should have some bird hunting experience and be in good physical condition. We offer half day field hunts as well as European hunts.
Fruitridge Pheasant Farm is a game bird hunting preserve which is licensed by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and is open to the public by reservation only.
